Mechanical Design Engineer

This position is in the Design Engineering department for Precision Products. Design responsibility will be design and development of new growth product. The candidate will assume full ownership of mechanical product design and provide ongoing production support to the manufacturing and quality teams. The will candidate also receive assignments in the form of projects with objectives/goals and will work with the cross-functional team to meet the outlined goals.
+ Full ownership of product design and development.
+ Validate product changes; process and design changes
+ Technology selection, conceptual design, detail design, prototyping.
+ Development testing, engineering analysis, qualification testing, production launch.
+ Continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
+ Interaction with customers and internal management.
+ Producing and maintaining drawings and specifications.
+ Collaboration with internal colleagues, and suppliers.
+ Working cross-functional teams to provide technical guidance to solve complex technical problems and drive corrective actions
+ Interface with customers on key issues
+ Meeting and exceeding customer requirements and expectations on schedule and in budget.
# Job Requirements Minimum:
+ BSME, with 3-5+ Years of Experience
+ Strong understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles in all areas, and ability to apply principles flexibly in unfamiliar situations.
+ Ability to collaborate and influence effectively, at all levels, inside and outside of the organization, and around the world.
+ Familiarity with various manufacturing methods (e.g., molding, stamping, forming, welding, soldering, machining, adhesives.)
+ Creativity and innovation; persistence and drive to solve challenging problems and overcome obstacles.
+ Ability to deliver results in a complex, fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
+ Proven ability to successfully lead projects
+ Familiarity with Six Sigma tools and methodology
+ Understands process control and statistics, tolerance analysis.
+ Experience using strain gages and in the temperature sensing field a plus
+ Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and thermal principles.
+ Familiarity with various engineering materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, plastics, ceramics, silicon, etc.)
+ Familiarity with design of experiments and theoretical modeling/ simulation
+ Self motivated
+ Ability to work with minimal supervision
+ Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals
+ Solid Modeling background (Solid Works preferred)
+ Must be able to work on simultaneous projects, tasks and programs
+ Logical thinking/ability to run experiments
+ Team player/works well with others in a culture which encourages personal accountability
+ Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
# Job Requirements
+ Interactions with design technicians, production line personnel, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, marketing engineers and other departments are required.
+ 5-10% travel and customer interaction will be required.
+ Job requires candidate to read and understand the use of MIL, EN, and customer specifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
