Electrical Design Engineer

Sensata is seeking a creative, Sr. Electrical Design Engineer to join our Industrial Solutions team. This position will be the technical lead (working along other engineers) for the design and implementation of concepts into production. The area of focus would be around sensors and controls for various industrial markets (including but not limited to HVAC, Refrigeration, pumps, chillers). The role will require the individual to interface with product management, operations and customers to execute on plans defined by that team. In this role the engineer will be asked to design, conduct testing, failure analysis, and modeling.
Work with product development teams to impact new design development
Electrical Design support for new and existing sensor products and applications
Interact directly with customers and suppliers to understand application requirements and solve challenging problems
Design analog & digital circuits to achieve high performance, quality and value in demanding environments. Familiarity with I2C and SPI digital protocols preferred.
Support existing sensor ASICs. Work with world class semiconductor companies to develop and qualify new custom ASICs
Work with cutting edge sensing technologies and develop creative, new approaches to sensing
Work within inter-disciplinary teams to address complex product design and manufacturing challenges
Ability to translate customer and system requirements into functional design requirements and then generate robust electronic designs that meet those requirements.
Ability to make and defend design performance and cost tradeoffs
Research related IP and technology state of the art
Ability to work as a member of cross-functional teams and to lead multiple projects simultaneously
Provide technical leadership for product design
Perform Design FMEA's and assist with Process FMEA's where required
Job Requirements
Qualified candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Master's degree preferred
Possess 10+ years of engineering experience in a fast moving, high growth, global and innovative environment
Analog and digital circuit design experience from the circuit board to transistor level
Working knowledge of semiconductor device physics, micro-electronic design, fabrication and packaging processes
Understanding of process control fundamentals, as well as electronic test methods and equipment. Familiarity with International EMC standards preferred.
Analytical and effective problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability in both creative and systematic thinking
Ability to properly define priorities and adapt to changes
Ability to develop unique, differentiated solutions to complex problems
Excellent communication skills for interfacing with peers, other engineering disciplines, customers, suppliers, and vendors to ensure successful development and execution of projects
Must be able to work on multiple simultaneous projects, tasks and programs
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Matlab, Spice (or equivalent)
Schematic capture and PCB layout tools
Must be able to work under time constraints and be flexible in regards to work hours.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
