Job Description:

Work with New Product Development teams and manage the New Component Sourcing Check List. This position will manage all aspects of supplier activities in NPD and utilize the necessary training, process, performance metrics, and communication plan to effectively address the supplier needs across the organization. Responsibilities include but are not limited to supplier selection, RFQ, cost reductions and coordinating overseeing the PPAP, supplier qualifications, and value chain. An individual with the appropriate purchasing, industry and supplier experience would be best qualified for the position.

Participate in the Concept Phase in NPD inclusive of supply base assessment, cost estimates, risk assessment and resource requirements in conjunction with PMT, DE and Commodity Purchasing Team Leaders.
Manage the NCS purchasing activities in the NPD process inclusive of the Development, Pilot, Pre-Launch and Production Phases.
Coordinate PPAP process and coordinate resource needs with Supplier Development and Supplier Quality.
Support all aspects of NCS supply chain identification, selection, and development in conjunction with Commodity Purchasing Team Leaders.
Update and maintain Supplier Self-Assessment and Supplier Validation forms as applicable in conjunction with Commodity Purchasing Team Leaders.
Provides linkage between NPD team and Commodity Purchasing Team Leaders
Coordinate and track Supplier Development and Supplier Quality process improvement needs throughout the NPD projects.
Generate and provide NPD Exit Review updates for each NPD Phase.
Track and measure performance at each Phase of the NPD process inclusive of timing, cost targets, and supplier performance.
Follow all applicable Purchasing policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Technical degree or Business degree with strong technical affinity.
MBA - not required but preferred
Experience in sourcing plastics, metal stamping, metals, and electronics
5 - 10 years of experience in purchasing
Excellent negotiation experience
Excellent collaboration & project management skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Additional Details

Travel - can be up to 20% depending on demands
Language - Fluent English
Computer Skills - proficient in MS Office
Oracle ERP system
