JOB TITLE: Customer Quality Engineer
JOB DURATION: 12+ months

Job Description:
The Customer Quality Engineer will work with other engineers and technical colleagues in a team environment to manage key customer accounts for Quality in the automotive industry. The Engineer will solve problems with products and with the end user. It is a tremendous opportunity for an electrical, mechanical, design or process engineer with strong technical and communication skills to impact the customer satisfaction of leading automotive companies worldwide, analyze Quality data to make informed decisions, and communicate the end result in a professional environment.

Working with strategic customer accounts with direct customer interface to drive quality improvement, responding to customer issues with crisp communication and providing strong problem resolution skills are critical to the position. The Sensor Products Global Business Unit - Quality is focused on developing its engineers and thus provides weekly trainings/meetings with knowledge experts to learn different topics.

The Customer Quality Engineer manages several customer accounts in all aspects of Quality and continuous improvement.

Specific tasks include
Developing a strategy to manage specific customer accounts
Performing risk assessments
Understanding customer specific requirements
Setting quality goals and improvement plans
Documenting and working with lessons learned
Reviewing Control Plans and improving them
Developing a customer satisfaction plan
Working with Production sites to drive manufacturing improvements
Analyzing data to identify concerns and respond to customers
8D/Corrective action management for customer issues

Job Requirements
Minimum requirements include:
2 - 5 years' experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Design or Process Engineering
BS in Engineering
Experience in a high volume industry
Strong customer interface experience
Demonstrated ability to achieve results
Strong planning, organization and communication skills
Ability to lead people and work with teams
Microsoft Office skills
5-10% travel expected

Preferred requirements include
Background in Design or Process Engineering
Knowledge of the new product development process
Six Sigma training
Experience with automotive industry
CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) certification
Experience with some common tools used in this role, including 6 Sigma, Design for 6 Sigma, Design for Manufacturability, GD&T, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, control plan, and 8D.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
