0 Attleboro, MA Attleboro, MA Full-time Full-time $21 - $22 an hour $21 - $22 an hour 5 days ago 5 days ago 5 days ago The Family Support Worker (FSW) at the Attleboro Family Resource Center (FRC) provides information and educational resources to Family Members in addition to providing referrals to community resources.
The FSW is responsible for promoting healthy relationships, role modeling behaviors, working with families, and supporting staff team in daily activities of the Center.
This position requires direct work with families, administrative duties and support of day-to-day operations of the program.
Typical job duties include:
Provide a continuum of family strengthening services to assigned families, which may include, but not be limited to:
supportive coaching, skill building, role modeling, accessing housing, financial management, basic health, child development, accessing employment, benefits and other community services.
Monitor the provision and quality of services provided to families and serve as the liaison when new services/resources need to be sought or developed.
Seek community resources with assistance from team/supervisor and modify plan whenever services or resources need to be added and/or deleted Follow all safety guidelines to ensure the safety of children, families, and staff across settings to the greatest extent possible.
Maintain files and complete all required documentation and reports in a professional and timely manner following prescribed guidelines and timeframes.
Participate as a professional member of the FRC Team and work collaboratively with team members.
Meet regularly with FRC Team and Program Manager as requested.
Demonstrate a continued awareness and commitment to cultural diversity, religious and personal values and traditions of persons served and their families in order to accomplish the mission of the organization.
Demonstrate a continued awareness and knowledge of agency policies, practices, and procedures.
Adhere to agency regulations, rules and protocols.
Create and contribute to the parent and youth support group efforts through volunteer and agency recruitment.
Provide current and updated parenting and support information and connect parents to community resources Attend trainings that are pertinent and relevant to working with families at risk Other duties as assigned by Program Manager Education and
Experience:
Requires strong knowledge of parenting skills, child development, family systems, and case management.
Basic Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office programs Must be able to sit down, stand up, walk up and down stairs and bend over during the course of the day Requires good organizational skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Requires excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with DCF and collateral agencies.
Requires ability to work flexible schedules, some evening and weekend work possible.
