35 hours per week The City of Attleboro Council on Aging seeks a Program Assistant, who working under the direction of the Director, assists in the planning, development, coordination and publicizing of programs and activities at the Larsen Senior Center.
Duties include:
Assists the Director in developing new programs for elders.
Plans, coordinates and oversees on-going activities at the senior center.
Develops and maintains a resource list of prospective activity instructors and speakers.
Develops, maintains, and coordinates the bi-monthly newsletter.
Oversees the newsletter for mailing.
Maintains client database for newsletter mailing.
Performs related duties as required.
Requires Associates degree in social work, human services, gerontology, communications or related field and one or more years' experience in human services programming; or any equivalent combination or education and experience.
Must have knowledge of elder issues and interests and sensitivity to their needs.
Ability to use a computer for work processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Understanding of computer software as it relates to newsletter preparation and other publications.
Successful candidate will be subject to CORI investigation.
